Renewable Energy Festival, Fleischmanns NY, Aug 5-6

Festival will feature musicians, renewable energy information

The third annual Evergreen Energy Festival, a renewable energy and two-day music festival, will be Friday and Saturday at the Evergreen Inn and Performance Space, 1625 Main St. in Fleischmanns.

Renewable energy demonstrations and information will be available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The demonstrations will feature Lloyd Hoffstetter from Sunstruck Design, Jessica Barry from the Mid Hudson Energy Smart Community Outreach Program and Todd Pascarella from the Home Energy Audit Program.

Music starts at 8 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Friday’s musical lineup begins with the ’70s-style acoustic rock of Pamela West, followed by Joel Cage, ex-Southside Johnny guitarist, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Naomi Sommers will begin the music portion of the festival with folk-bluegrass.

At 2 p.m., Aurora North will play on the Evergreen main stage. Other performers include Ian Charles, Anna Cheek, Erik Lichter, John Holt & Generous Thief, The Sawtelles, Water Witch, Sultan of Soul Gus Mancini, Patti Martin and The Waz.

Tickets are available at Evergreen Inn, the Fleischmann’s Supermarket, Belleayre Plaza in Pine Hill, Rocko’s Gems & Minerals in Margaretville and at Rhythms CDs and Tapes in Woodstock. Limited lodging and camping are available, and food will be provided by Railroad Pizza.
